What are the Skincare Benefits of Vitamin C?

Vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid) is an extremely important nutrient, not only for your whole body, but very much so for your skin. Vitamin C can do soooo much! It can be absorbed directly into the top layers of your skin and its antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-pigmentary properties help to:

  • repair damaged skin
  • generate collagen to keep skin plump and young-looking
  • decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • protect against UV light and sun damage
  • prevent premature aging
  • heal wounds
  • brighten up complexion and even skin tone
  • reduce the appearance of dark spots

Just a few natural sources of vitamin C include oranges, lemons, acerola cherries, and rose hips, so look for these in your facial moisturizers, serums and other skincare products.  Check out our Vitamin C Serum and add it to your daily skincare routine.

Vitamin C Serums are seemingly everywhere and in my opinion for good reason the antioxidant and skin brightens is one of the most effective skincare out there. I”m in my late 50’s now and have used quite a few serums, and I have learned vitamin C is notoriously fickle, it can degrade and lose it potency over time or when exposed to light light and heat. My point – you need to be careful what you choose. I recommend Botanicals Vitamin C Serum because this product has not lost it’s potency since I have used, and I have noticed a wonderful glow – brightness to my face, reduced in fine lines and my wrinkles and uneven texture. I have even noticed help with elasticity and photo damage. What is really interesting, I’m experiencing all this this with a product with no chemicals – all Natural. I Love it! It feels wonderful! I will keep using it! Cara B
